The thing I dig about this place is they have both American style Mexican, for amateurs :) and more authentic choices. My go-to is definitely the Carnitas with a side of homemade Habanero salsa. The habanero salsa is not on the menu and you have to ask for it special, some of the servers don't even know that it exists, but it's well worth searching it out. Absolutely outrageous! Between the carnitas and the Carne Asada Tacos, you can't go wrong. And they have the american burritos for the kiddies.

The food is really good and the servers are all very nice. It's a great place for a group, too, always enough room for however many you have at your table!

We stopped here with a group on a Saturday night and the place was packed so I was worried about getting a table but surprisingly we were seated right away. Service was fast, everyone said their food was great. Mine tasted great but could have been a little warmer. Overall it is a great restaurant and I would definitely go back again.

Love this place! Monster margaritas, fantastic food, generous portions. It can get a bit loud at prime times, especially happy hour, but well worth the noise.

Chips and a wonderful house-made salsa upon arrival. We ordered Garibaldi Burrito and Tacos de Carne Asado. They were both very good. The 3 tacos come with doubled corn tortillas and build your own options (e.g., beans, pico de gallo, sauce, etc.). The red sauce that came with the tacos was pretty special. Service was good, too. The only reason we did not give it 5 stars was a minor issue with the fountain drinks - we had to send iced tea back due to a strong sulphur smell and taste, but the server brought something else instead and did not charge us, so it was resolved fairly. We would recommend and come back if ever in New Ulm again.

Egads this was bad. Just came from living in Mexifornia for a very long time and have had tons of autentico MX food. This is Minnesota-Mexican: no seasoning, no flavor. Nice people and I suppose they have to cater to the local taste, but it sure doesn't taste like much.

Fast, polite, and the food is delicious to boot. Can't wait to pass through New Ulm again so I can try some other options.

I just moved here from southern California and this is as close as you can get to authentic.

As a non foodie I don't feel qualified to critique the food credibly. What I can say is as I work my way thru the menu, each dish is distinct from the others. When I leave I don't feel greased out or heavy cheese sauced. I leave looking forward to returning to try something different off their menu.

I would not return to this establishment... The food was served cold and when asked for a new plate that was hot, it took a very long time only to result in feeling ill the rest of the day. The chicken was not cooked and I was not able to eat it. Not to mention the price and service was awful! Do not recommend!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
